We are a family from Steinbach, Manitoba with a passionate desire to create as a reflection of the creation around us. All of our jewellery is locally handcrafted by us and made to last. 

Prairie Goldsmith was founded in 1993 by the original prairie goldsmith himself, Andy Schinkel. What began as a small way for Andy to share his own handcrafted designs while perfecting his skills as a master goldsmith soon blossomed into a family venture when his wife and children officially joined the team in 2019 and 2025. Together, we’ve grown into the trusted family business we are today, grounded in the good news and driven by a passion for quality, honesty, and care.

For many years, we have and will continue to work behind the scenes handcrafting and repairing fine jewellery for local stores across the province, with a dedication to quality, honesty and attention to detail, and now, we’re bringing the same dedication directly to you!
